The Hallamore Clydesdales

Picture
This eight horse Clydesdale hitch stabled in Lakeville, Massachusetts is owned by the Hallamore Corporation of Holbrook, Massachusetts, which was established in 1898. Members of the hitch are selected from leading breeders in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.

Each horse weighs approximately 2,200 lbs., stands 18 ½ hands and the average age of these horses is eight years. The beautiful wagon was built in 1899 by the Studebaker Company in Chicago, Illinois and thus is one hundred and ten years old.  It is one of only three such wagons in our country today, and has a carrying capacity of five ton.  ~ Information provided by Dennis Barry
