Their History
Based in the Waikato, New Zealand, the Pirongia Clydesdales started out as the DB Draught Clydesdales in 1989. They became a national icon, much loved throughout New Zealand. During those years the team travelled the length and bredth of the country delighting young and old with their magestic, beautifully presented horse drawn wagon.
In 1999, their promotion with DB Draught ended, but that wasn't the end for the team. They went on to become what they are today...the Pirongia Clydesdales. They offer a wide variety of services, from horse drawn carriages for a wedding to educational visits for schools. They also offer stable visits where you can see the Clydesdales themselves or the visit the harness museum and carriage house. ~Information provided by the Pirongia Clydesdales website.
